Welcome to the newest addition to my Goldfinch Publications web site.

 

I have always been interested in British wildlife, as a hunter, aviculturist, ornithologist and over the last decade or so, a conservationist. I have written articles in the sporting and countryside press since 1996, and, as you can see on other pages of this site, I am an author of 2 books, A BIRD IN THE HAND, and WORKING DEERHOUNDS LURCHERS AND LONGDOGS. Recently, spurred on by wildlife photographer Bob Perry, I have begun taking wildlife photographs, and this section of my site is devoted to this fact, and includes a small sample of my work.
I intend to show photographs of birds and mammals in their natural environments, but I also hope to illustrate many action shots, ‘creatures doing what they do’.
Pictorial photographs of the beautiful county of Northumberland and the Scottish borders will also be included through time.

I will update this site regularly, as new photos become available, so if this is the first time you have visited, please come back.

A larger sample of my work is available on request, as a general cross section or on a specific species or subject.

All photographs on this site are copyright to myself, and the usual international copyright laws apply to their use.
I will however allow certain pictures to be used by non-profitable conservation organisations or schools, but permission must be obtained from me first. Photos are for sale, available as prints up to A4, (framed or bordered) or as most other formats.

Anyone from Northumberland, Durham or the Scottish borders now living outside the area or abroad, and wishing pictures of specific areas, landmarks, villages, towns or childhood locations etc, drop me a line, I will see what I can do with some quality photographs.

EQUIPMENT
The cameras I use at the moment are the FUJI S2 PRO, and later the NIKON D200, with various lenses, my favourite being an AF VR-NIKKOR 80-400mm.
